Casting directors, agents, and producers operate in a global professional environment where an actor’s successful career largely depends on understanding international standards and industry practices.
The Russian Casting Directors Guild is organizing a special international program within the framework of KOROCHE, Russia’s Festival of Short and Debut Films. The festival will traditionally take place in August 2026 in Kaliningrad.
The International Program of the Russian Casting Directors Guild has been created as a platform for professional dialogue between Russian and international industry professionals. The program will bring together casting directors, talent agents, producers, and actors to discuss current market trends, the specifics of working in different countries, and the prospects for international collaboration.
The central event of the professional program will be the Speed Dating sessions scheduled for August 23, bringing together international casting directors and Russian English-speaking actors for a series of short one-on-one meetings.
At the heart of the program is an open exchange of experience and practical knowledge. Participants will have the opportunity to explore casting approaches in different film industries, learn about the requirements of international productions, and discuss the role of talent agencies as well as contemporary tools for talent discovery and promotion.
In addition, the program will feature a large-scale roundtable discussion bringing together casting professionals from different countries. The key topics will include the exchange of professional expertise, the development of new industry initiatives, and the creation of international collaborative projects.
Special attention will be given to professional development opportunities for Russian actors and industry professionals, as well as to fostering new connections within the film community.
