Marianna Kasatkina
My name is Marianna Kasatkina. I’m a professional stage and film actress, an acting coach, and a creator.
I have a strong academic foundation - I graduated from the legendary GITIS in Moscow and the Michael Chekhov International Academy in Berlin. However, I’ve always considered myself a truly international artist. I absolutely love crossing borders, connecting with different cultures, and gathering creative, passionate people from all over the world to build beautiful things together. I speak fluent English, which gives me the freedom to work globally without any barriers.
My acting journey is deeply rooted in theater. Back in Russia, I performed at the famous Theatre on the Southwest (Teatr na Yugo-Zapade) in several productions, and I’ve also been part of various independent touring projects (entreprises). On screen, I’ve worked extensively in
Russian cinema and television, including my most recent TV role as Mashka - a deeply emotional and dynamic character that was an absolute joy to bring to life.
Beyond acting, I am a certified coach of the incredible Michael Chekhov Technique. This method is pure magic - it’s all about working with energy, imagination, atmospheres, and the psychophysical connection to a
character. I don’t just teach it; I actively apply these tools to all my work in both theater and film to create deep, authentic performances.
This philosophy actually led me to found my own project called Theatre of the Future. It has organically evolved into an international academy, a beautiful community, and a little theatre company. Together with our talented alumni, we’ve created two unique productions and toured with them across Moscow and St. Petersburg! For the last six months, I’ve been living in India, diving into the local industry and participating in several exciting film projects. I am always open to new stories, fresh collaborations, and bold visions. I would be absolutely thrilled to connect with you and be a part of this festival!
