Nelly Uvarova
Nelly Uvarova is an award-winning stage and screen actress whose work spans classical theatre, contemporary drama and international cinema. Since 2001, she has been a leading member of the Russian Academic Youth Theatre (RAMT).

Her theatre work includes international collaborations with Declan Donnellan, touring worldwide in Three Sisters, and French director and choreographer Régis Obadia. Her repertoire also includes Tom Stoppard’s The Coast of Utopia. She was nominated for the Golden Mask for her acclaimed solo performance in Rules of Behaviour in Modern Society and received the Best Actress Award at the Rainbow International Theatre Festival.

Alongside her theatre career, Uvarova has built an extensive screen career spanning more than two decades, with over 40 film and television credits. She gained international recognition with the title role in one of the most successful adaptations of the global Ugly Betty franchise and most recently starred in Amerikatsi, directed by Michael A. Goorjian. The film was shortlisted for the 2024 Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.

Known for her emotional depth, subtle comic timing and psychological precision, Uvarova is equally at home on stage and in front of the camera and is currently seeking collaborations with international filmmakers, theatre directors and production companies. Working languages: Russian, English.
